The Wilmington Police Explorers is a career-oriented program that gives young adults the opportunity to explore a career in law enforcement by working with Officers from the Wilmington Police Department. The program is open to young people between the ages of 14 years old to 20 years old, who are responsible, motivated and eager to give back to the community.
The Wilmington Police Explorer Program will put these young adults through police training, fitness programs, and community service opportunities in order to give them practical experience in law enforcement. These experiences will be designed to help build teamwork, leadership and life skills. The Explorers will be able to use these skills during Department and Town functions they will be participating in.
The program will be working with community organizations, schools, and other town departments. The Explorer Program is a year round program. Each Explorer will need to have a high moral character, maintain academic standards, & keep up in attendance with the program. The program is open to anyone who is interested in a career in the Criminal Justice field or  wants to give back to the community.
